Off-platform pressure
If they push you to WhatsApp before discussing terms, slow down.
A common pattern: someone wants you off Shoot fast, before any contract or escrow is set up. Once you're on WhatsApp the protections vanish — there's no record on the platform, no escrow, and no easy report path. Push back. Real clients are happy to negotiate where Shoot can see it.
What to look for
- 'Let's just talk on WhatsApp' before terms are agreed
- Refusal to discuss budget on the platform
- Asking for your number in the very first message
- Trying to skip Shoot escrow for 'simpler' payment
- Late-night first contact with vague details and 'urgent' framing
What to do
- Keep the conversation on Shoot until terms are agreed in writing.
- Once a booking is confirmed via Shoot, off-platform messaging is fine.
- If they refuse to use escrow, treat it as a major red flag.
- Tap Report if the pressure escalates.
- Tell a trusted friend or family member the shoot details, time, and location.
